The Corporate Social Responsibility Department of the Sebuku Coal Group has been handling empowerment programs under the auspices of PT. STC and PT. SBC. The scope of ring 1 PT. STC covers Selaru Village, Sungup Kanan Village and Pantai Baru Village, Pulau Laut Tengah District. While the scope of ring 1 PT. SBC covers Mekarpura Village and Salino Village, Pulau Laut Tengah District. Thus, the CSR department handles empowerment programs in 5 villages for its ring 1 area. In the future, it will also handle empowerment programs for PT. SSC in the Pulau Laut Timur District.

Since the operation of the Sebuku Coal Group in Kotabaru Regency, many programs have been released, both charity and empowerment. Even so, the Sebuku Coal Group's CSR department continues to prioritize long-term empowerment programs. The programs that have been running such as vegetable cultivation, tilapia fish cultivation, lowland rice cultivation and so on are still running until now.

Meanwhile, specifically in the field of Education, Sebuku Coal Group provides free teaching staff for STIT Darul Ulum Kotabaru and Kotabaru Polytechnic. This activity is part of the Sebuku Coal Mengajar program which has been running since August 2020. This is a form of the Sebuku Coal Group's commitment in striving to improve and develop human resources in Kotabaru Regency.
